Without a doubt, the energy transition is one of the greatest and most important challenges of our time. A complete system transition in which industrial product designers play a central role. For many years, ManGo Product Design has been involved in numerous projects related to this transition towards sustainability. Especially in the energy/installation sector, and utility/housing construction, many of our developments are already in use. From innovative heat pumps to air purifiers and from construction site batteries to home use rainwater systems.

The engineering process

High quality industrial design of products/systems having to do with energy and installations is very important. Most of the time however, the technology and mechatronics to make systems work is the bigger challenge. As a turnkey engineering company, ManGo also often works on the technical challenges of products for our clients.

CFD-analysis

In many product developments, a CFD-analysis is indispensable. In such digital analyses, heat build-up and fluid or air flows, among other things, are visualized to optimize a product design. Early application of a CFD-analysis avoids points of improvement only becoming apparent in expensive prototypes, and ultimately saves a great deal of time and costs in the development process.

User Centered Design for the installation sector

At ManGo we like to put ourselves in the shoes of the intended product users; this is also called User Centered Design (UCD). All stakeholders who come into contact with the product are the central focus point of the development process. Of course, the daily users but also, for example, installers. All too often, knowledge of the ease or inconvenience of installations and possible maintenance problems is overlooked. By working alongside installers in the field and by organizing knowledge sessions, we are able to bring this “hidden” knowledge to the surface and use it in the product design process.
